I would like to say Im delighted to be back as president for a second year and I look forward to a great school year. I would like to share with you the mission statement of the PTA. The mission statement is three-fold: to support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children; to assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and to encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation. I think it is important to remember these ideals as you attend PTSA meetings and support our school. The theme for the PTA this year is "One Voice for All Children." The PTSA wants you to get involved so you can help us be the voice for your children at the local, state, and national levels. We hope you will become a member of the PTSA. We will be having the sale of Sally Foster gift-wrap and Entertainment Books at the beginning of the school year. The money we raise from our fundraisers allows us to give many important things back to the school. We will be voting on a Wish List submitted by the staff at our evening PTSA meeting on Sept. 28 at 7:30 p.m. You must be a member of the PTSA to vote. We will also be voting on the budget that night. Last but certainly not least we hope to see you at our monthly morning PTSA meetings. NOTE THE CHANGE : MEETINGS WILL BE ON THE SECOND WEDNESDAY OF EACH Month at 9 a.m. in the Media Center. |
