My name is Raquel. I'm twelve years old. Ever since I
was born -- in Miami -- I've had a passion for food. My parents have
said that my calling in life has something to do with food. I've
always been curious about the ingredients and recipes of each meal.
I've been told on many occasions that I have a sophisticated palate.
Due to this connection for food I decided to become a kids food
critic. My first assignment was the Macaroni Grill.
Fresh salad, hot ravioli and a glass of cold soda,
what more can you a person ask for?
The Macaroni Grill on Kendall and 123 avenue is most
superb for a casual dinner with the family. We were a group of nine
and arrived at the restaurant right before 8 pm and were seated
promptly. The menu was given to us as soon as we sat down and the
adults were provided a diverse selection of wines.
In full view of the customers, the chefs were cooking
14 different meals at a time. You could see that there are
approximately 40 different ingredients that they could choose from,
which included everything from tomatoes to garlic sauce. As I walked
through the restaurant I could smell the fresh meat, and fish.
As we decided what to order, the waiter arrived with
garlic bread and an amazing garlic sauce to dip it in. Next, we were
served a delicious, fresh Caesar salad.
We ordered ravioli, pizza, spaghetti and chicken and
all were quite delicious. Some may think that the food would be very
expensive, however the children's menu is only $3.99 for kids 12 and
under.
My family and I felt right at home with the soothing
Italian music and active atmosphere. I know that my family enjoyed the
supply of crayons that kept my younger sisters occupied for a few
hours.
The people at Macaroni Grill know exactly what people
want, a way to keep their children quiet and of course a clean
restaurant. The meticulous placement of the silverware, napkins and
glasses showed that the restaurant cared about its reputation and had
a desire to make the customer happy.
By the time I left the restaurant, there was a
45-minute wait. So, I would suggest arriving before eight to avoid a
wait.
As I left the restaurant with a full stomach, all I
could think about was what I would order the next time I went to the
Macaroni Grill. On a scale of one to five, I would rate this
restaurant a 4 for casual family-style dining, considering price,
atmosphere, service and the quality of the food.
