As part of her Bat Mitzvah observance,
Pinecrest's Elyse Rosenberg (center) donated part of her financial
gifts to Florida Action for Jews in the Former Soviet Union. Her
donation was earmarked for Project Chai to help elderly and disabled
Jews in Odessa, Ukraine. Rosenberg presented her check to Florida
Action co-chairs Sandy Cantor (left) and Hinda Cantor. Rosenberg's
generosity reportedly will pay for a month of food and care for
hundreds of needy, elderly Jews. "It is so important to see young
people the next generation becoming aware of the needs of Jews
outside our own community and learning to take positive action,"
