Pasta Fiore, one of Pinecrest's more popular Italian
restaurants, has added an Argentine grill offering to its menu.

Lucia Chavarry tends to customers at a table in her Pasta Fiore
Restaurant.
The intimate eatery, at 9705 So. Dixie Highway, has
built a loyal customer base since it opened in 1997, with customers
throughout Miami-Dade.
"Our customers enjoy our superbly prepared
cuisine, as well as the relaxed casual atmosphere, personal attentive
service and moderate prices," said owner Lucia Chavarry. "We
decided to add the Argentine Grill to offer them an even wider variety
of dining options. We now have chefs specializing in both Italian and
Argentine favorites working side-by-side in our kitchen."
The new Argentine Grill section of the menu offers an
assortment of authentic Argentine appetizers, charcoal broiled meats
and reasonably priced wines. Appetizers include Provoleta, or grilled
provolone cheese with olive oil and oregano; Chorizo ala Parrilla, or
grilled sausage; Morcilla, or blood sausage; Molleja, or sweetbreads
and Ensalade Rusa, or Russian salad. Prices range from $3.95 to $8.95.
Meat entrees include Vacio, or flap steak, Tiras de
Asado, short ribs; Entrana, skirt steak; Bife de Chorizo, sirloin
steak; Lomo, round steak; and Parrillado para dos, a mixed grill for
two. The individual entrees are $14.95 and $16.95, while the grill for
two is $26.95. All entrees are served with soup or salad, French
fries, bread and chimichury sauce.
"We are delighted with the response since we
first announced these additions to our menu," said Chavarry.
"To celebrate, for a limited time we are offering all of the free
Sangria you can drink with your meal on Wednesday nights."
Pasta Fiore also offers a wide variety of pastas --
rigatoni, fettuccini, linguini, spaghetti, penne, capelli, and ravioli
served with a variety of sauces, from Amatriciana, or tomato sauce,
bacon, onions, and parmesan cheese; Pomodoro, fresh tomato, onions and
basil; Carolina, fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and basil; Cristina,
mushrooms, onions, peas and pink sauce; Putanesca, Kalamata olives,
capers and anchovy in a spicy red sauce; Balognese, a delicious meat
sauce; Mostachi, a mild Italian sausage and mushrooms in a spicy
sauce; Venezia, Porcini mushrooms, broccoli and a touch of demi glace;
and San Remo, fresh tomatoes and pesto with a touch of marinara sauce.
But that's not all. The chef at Pasta Fiore makes many
different kinds of Risotto's and baked pastas, from the delicate to
the hearty. There are seven appetizers and four salads.
The restaurant's signature dish is Pasta Fiore, which
combines large shrimp, clams, fresh tomatoes and basil over linguini.
The other house specialty is Cioppino, a savory main course is a
medley of lobster tail, shrimps, clams, mussels and squid with a touch
of spicy marinara.
Chicken is prepared in several distinctive styles --
Pavarotti, Sorrentina, Francese, Cacciatore, and Parmigina while
veal is served as Caprese, Fiore, or Parmigiana. All Italian entrees
are accompanied by soup or salad, pasta, and caponatina, a tasty
eggplant dip.
Desserts range from daily specials to traditional
favorites, such as Tiramisu, Cheese Flan, Baklava, Chocolate Cake and
Italian ice cream. Espresso and cappuccino are available.
Visiting is like being invited to someone's home for
lunch or dinner. Chavarry manages the restaurant with her
sister-partner Maria Rivas. Her brother-in-law is the Italian chef and
her brother and nephew also play roles in helping customers to enjoy a
memorable dining experience.
Pasta Fiore is open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 3
p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Dinner hours are 5:30 to 10:00 p.m. Tuesday,
Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. Dinner is served until 11:30 p.m. on
Saturday. For reservations and more information, please call
