Ft. Lauderdale's Sinbad Lites has developed and
introduced Trailerlites, the portable accessory light system to
designate wide and overhanging loads.
Trailerlites can also be connected to any trailer or
towed vehicle with malfunctioning or inoperable lights to create a
legal, working transport. The system requires no assembly and installs
in minutes.
Trailerlites is the "spare tire" for your
trailer lighting system, keeping you on the road, visible and safe in
traffic.
Sinbad Lites President Dan Stephenson, with 25 years
of long-haul experience, recognized a need for his equipment while
trailering performance boats for clients.
"Trailered boats generally travel slower than
average traffic," said Stephenson. "This product provides
maximum exposure at the rear of the boat at a height where it is
clearly visible in all weather conditions. The easier any oversize
load is to see, the safer it is for everybody on the road."
Many boats towed on highways overhang the lights on
the trailer by four feet or more, a violation of federal statutes.
Trailer loads wider than 80 inches are required by law to be
identified by three red lights on the rear center, horizontally spaced
six to 12 inches. Trailerlites meets all federal lighting requirements
and is interchangeable between trailers, providing convenience and
flexibility.
Trailer lighting generally causes problems. Fixtures
are usually of low quality, while the wiring is often simple and
exposed. The combination of weather and miles driven renders a basic
trailer lighting system to an ongoing maintenance headache.
Trailerlites provides a high quality, economical and maintenance-free
trailer lighting solution.
Trailerlites contains SAE approved weatherproof
taillights with turn signals, brake lights and three identification
lamps. The taillights are standard equipment on semi-tractor trailers
and are an upgrade from light-duty boat trailer lights.
The lighting components are contained within a rugged
yet lightweight weather resistant PVC casing. The light bar attaches
easily to any load with a heavy duty, oil resistant bungee cord with
adjustable hooks. The pigtail connecters plug in to standard vehicle
or trailer receptacles and the wiring is protected by a heavy-duty
rubber encasement. Trailerlites can be used with an existing trailer
lighting system by plugging the light bar into the trailer. If the
trailer is without lights, extension cords are available in any length
to connect Trailerlites to the tow vehicle.
