Mark's Athletic Soles of Miami has re-introduced the
Reef Rider Sandals line under the name of Ocean Rider Sandals.
Ocean Rider Sandals are made from high-grade American leather
When Reef Rider was first offered, Mark's Athletic
made the original non-skid soles that were the sandals' main selling
point.
"Today's product is far superior to any
comparable item now on the market," said Gardo Gomez, one of the
owners of Mark's Athletic Soles. "Each sandal is made from the
best quality American rubber."
Once the soles are cut from a pattern, the rubber is split and the
soles are individually wiped with a de-skidding machine. That means
each razor cut on the soles of Ocean Rider Sandals is made
individually and is closely spaced for maximum gripping power.
Gardo says that most competitors' sandals are stamped
out or dye-cut; making it all but impossible to space the cuts close
enough for maximum gripping power.
"The process is time consuming, but it ensures a
quality product," said Gardo. "Our high grade American
leather is oiled, waxed and specially treated to withstand saltwater
and sun exposure."
The sandals have extra strong Dacron stitching and are
UV and saltwater resistant, with all-leather foot beds cushioned for
comfort and shock absorption.
"The sandals will form fit to your feet and with
proper care they will last for years," said Gardo.
