"A friend of mine has a canoe and we go out on the lakes and catch a lot of peacocks and large mouth bass," he said. "But, we just catch ‘em and throw ‘em back, so they’ll always be there. Nobody really fishes there, so we have it all to ourselves. It’s relaxing. When I’m out there, I don’t think of anything but fishing."

Dock, 22, is a new part-time park service aide with the Pinecrest Parks and Recreation Department. He works full time with UPS expediting parcels.

"Somebody told me Pinecrest was hiring for Parks and Recreation," he said. "I always wanted to work for the community or the county. So, I came over and applied."

Dock is a 1996 graduate of Palmetto Senior High. A Miami native, he grew up in Coconut Grove and attended Ponce de Leon Junior High and Carver Elementary. His family then moved near the Falls at the beginning of his sophomore year in high school and he decided to attend Palmetto. He lives at home with his mother and two brothers. The family attends Christ Episcopal Church in the Grove.

Dock is single and says he enjoys working out, exercising and participating in all sports.

"When I was younger, I did a little bit of everything," he said. "I played football, I boxed for a while, lifted weights. Most of my teenage years, I was a deejay."

Dock said that eventually he wants to go back to school and continue his education, possibly at Miami-Dade Community College.

"I’m a very hard worker and an easy-to-get-along-with type of guy," he said. "I’m just a down-to-earth person and that sums it all up about me, I guess."
