Howard Levrant will head up the Division II Softball of the Howard Palmetto Khoury League.
With two youngsters playing in the Howard Palmetto Khoury League and another a graduate of the program, Levrant knows the importance of being involved with the kids. "As a parent you like to know what type of elements your kids are involved in and being a part of Howard Palmetto makes me that much closer to my kids and their surroundings," said Levrant. Levrant and wife Maria Elena have three children -- daughter Lauren, 16, who attends Palmetto Senior High School; Sara, 13, who attends Palmetto Middle; and son Michael, 7, who attends Palmetto Elementary. When Levrant is not taking on the responsibilities of Vice President of Girls Softball Division II, he is busy coaching Sara, who plays in girls softball division 4 and son Michael who also plays at Howard Palmetto. Levrant's primary responsibilities as Vice President of Softball Division II are overseeing and evaluating the coaches, handling discipline problems and making sure the right number of youngsters are on the teams. He will be in charge of roughly 6 teams with 11 girls on each team. "My biggest satisfaction is watching the kids develop and knowing that I am contributing to their development," said Levrant. " From a social aspect it's great, and if there is a positive environment for the girls, it makes for a great time." Division II softball is set to start in late January. |
