The 15th Annual Pink and Blue Gala of the Children's Home Society of Florida will be an evening of Japanese splendor, complete with classical dancers, food delicacies, and an oriental-inspired décor of Kimonos, rare chests and one-of-a-kind Ikebana centerpieces
"Tales of Ancient Japan" will take place on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at the Hotel Inter-Continental, Miami. Dr. Joe Kurstin and wife, Elena, collectors of Japanese art and antiques, are chairpersons of the event. The Gala, one of South Florida's largest black tie fundraising events, will feature a cocktail reception with a selection of Japanese entertainment including the famed Taiko drummers never before presented in South Florida and everything from sushi and teriyaki to tempura. An auction and four-course dinner with dancing complete the offerings. The Pink & Blue Gala is the main fundraiser for the Children's Home Society of Florida Southeastern Division. All proceeds from the Gala benefit the more than 850 children and families at risk who are served each month in the community. The Society's mission is to provide effective solutions to build and support healthy families for Florida's children. Gala ticket prices are $300, $500 and $1,000 per person. Tables of 10 and corporate sponsorships also are available. For further information and ticket sales, contact Audra Carey at 305-324-1262, ext. 441. |
