Daiwa's newest Interline rod family takes the "no-guide" success story one level higher. With technique-specific design input from Daiwa's bass pro superstars, the Team Daiwa-S Linear Interline family incorporates a revised integral inner spiral for even better casting and a new Speed Threader for superior rigging. Daiwa engineers not only fine tuned rod actions to match the specific demands of today's most popular bass fishing techniques, using proprietary technology, they even refined the rods' spiraled interior rod wall. If you visualize a stretched-out metal spring, you get the picture of what the interior rod wall looks like, except this spiral actually is the inner rod wall, not an insert. The raised ridges of the spiral, which have a long lasting water repellent treatment, prevent water droplets from slowing down the line as it passes through the hollow blank. There are about two hundred spirals per six-foot section, each of which now has a more rounded profile for even better line flow. It not only improves casting, but means a straighter free-fall of your lure after splash down. Having hundreds of line contact points also means slamming hook sets, greater sensitivity and smoother retrieve because the slack line found between ordinary, widely-spaced guides is eliminated. "These new rods represent our next generation of Interline technology," said William Steiner, Daiwa vice president of sales and marketing. "The refined actions and modified spiral design mean even better overall performance for the fisherman. "And it's across the board performance. By eliminating guides you eliminate excess weight, stress points, action robbing dead spots, torquing of the rod blank, and tangling in rod lockers. Plus you add hook setting power and sensitivity. In short, you enhance every performance aspect of a fishing rod." The 15-rod series of technique-specific Linear interlines covers a spectrum of applications from flipping to finesse spinning. Line-class capabilities range from four-pound test up to 30-pound. Lures as light as one-eighth ounce allow fishermen to toss long range finesse baits, or work slab spoons and pork rinds. Crafted out of High Modulus HSD Graphite, these rods have the backbone for controlling large fish, yet Daiwa's special blend of graphite makes them light and super sensitive. Classic-styled handles are crafted from high-grade cork. Scratch-proof silicon carbide inserts ensure line will not be abraded at the line inlet and tip-top outlet. Line inlets and outlets are anodized to ensure years of pleasing performance. The handy new Speed Threader makes it so easy to
"string up" the rods you could do it blindfolded. Manufacturer's suggested retail prices (MSRP) range from $129.95 to $139.95.
