Ruth Guerrero
recently was named Employee of the Month by Sir Galloway Dry Cleaners, but Guerrero is far
from an overnight sensation.

Ruth Guerrero
"Ruth has been exceptional at every level here at Sir
Galloway. She has developed a tremendous rapport with her customers wherever shes
been," said Mark Mills, an executive at Sir Galloway.
Guerrero first joined Sir Galloway in January 1993, and
served as a Customer Service Representative, or counter person, for three years. She
quickly distinguished herself with a friendly demeanor and a determination to make sure
that Sir Galloway customers were always 100 percent satisfied with the quality and
timeliness of their work.
"At every level, Sir Galloway has just been a great
place to work. Theres a lot of security. I love working with people, and its a
pleasant environment. The support system provided by management is awesome, too,"
Guerrero said.
After her time as a customer service representative,
Guerrero was promoted to the Delivery Service, and given her own vehicle.
"Ruth cultivated a very trusting, honest relationship
with her customers and it seemed natural to promote her to delivery, where each employee
is responsible for gaining and maintaining their own customers," Mills said.
"She responded by going out and nearly maxing out her service capabilities. Her
current service area stretches from the Redland to Downtown."
Guerrero likes the increased intimacy of the
customer/company relationship that the delivery position provides.
"These people are like friends to me. They totally
depend on me to take care of their needs. I pick up, I drop off and I handle all billing
concerns as well," Guerrero said.
She uses a cellular phone so that all her customers can get
in touch with her of anytime of day, including potential new ones. Her number is
305-389-1436.
Guerreros odyssey is truly an American success story.
She was born in New York City and lived there until she was 14. From there she moved to
California, where she stayed for five years before she moved to south Miami-Dade County.
When she first came here, Guerrero worked at the Ocean Reef Club before joining Sir
Galloway.
Her daughter, Jessamy, attends Southridge High and her son,
Arthur Jr., is at Cutler Ridge Elementary. Her husband, Arthur Sr., recently was promoted
to a district manager position at Pep Boys.
"My family just loves it here. We recently bought a
new home in Saga Bay and plan to raise our kids there," she said.
Sir Galloway Dry Cleaners has been serving Miami-Dade since
1984, and has had an Employee of the Month for the past 10 years.
"People like Ruth Guerrero need to be recognized for
their performance and dedication. Thats why we created the award in the first
place," Mills said.
