| Students at
Gulliver Academys Primary School recently were treated to a rare winter in Florida
when 10 tons of snow were shipped in to the school.
"This is a wonderful experience for our children. For
most of them, this is the first time they have ever seen snow," said Pat Martello,
vice principal. "We try to teach children to use all of their senses and with snow,
of course, we are emphasizing touch."
The children dressed warmly for the occasion, donning hats
and mittens for the event. When they returned to their classrooms, chocolate milk and
Klondike Ice Cream bars were served. That days lesson continued around a winter
theme. Children were taught about different climates and seasons around the world and
about the animals that live in each habitat |
