| Its easy to
do, zooming by on US 1. But keep your eye out, cause you dont want to miss this
little Italian gem-of-an-eatery.

It is located at 12153 South Dixie Highwa in a small
shopping strip. But Paesaggio is tucked right away in there, with eager-to-please staff
who are ready to serve you in the restaurants friendly, homey atmosphere.
The owner greeted us warmly as we stepped inside the
restaurant. Wine was offered promptly by smiling waiters as was the delicious, steamy hot
bread.
To start, we ordered marinated, grilled Portobelo mushrooms
with roasted peppers and fresh, melted mozzarella ($7.95) and Calamari fried with an
incredibly light, flavorful batter. This was an abundant portion for $5.95.
A diverse selection of cold antipastos is on the menu, as
are a nice selection of salads ranging from Caesar, Tricolore, a special tomato, onion and
buffalo mozzarella salad as well as your basic house greens.
A pasta lover through and through, this place is heaven for
someone like me. Pastas every type with at least twelve different fresh, home-style
sauces are offered. I had Cappelini with Porcine mushrooms, fresh tomato and garlic. Boy,
it was incredible light, flavorful and perfectly seasoned.
There is also a fabulous selection of fish, veal and
chicken dishes. Grilled snapper, shrimp, seafood combos, Scallopine Ai Porcini mushrooms,
or Veal Parmigiana, Pizzaiola and Francese. Chicken is plentiful in every style
Cacciatore, Parmigiana, breaded with Fontina cheese and roasted peppers, artichokes and
mushrooms and Napoletana-style.
Alright, ready for more wine and dessert? The owner
insisted on the flan and Tiramisu, which I have to say were among the best I ever tasted.
Especially the Flan. Wow! Oh, and do have a cup of coffee or a Cappuccino. Its a
delicious way to end a satisfying meal, served with a smile. By the way, since Il
Paesaggio is a bit off the beaten track. you wont run into everyone you know. Try
it. You will like it!
