Oscar Roger, owner
and developer of
Gables on the Green

On a clear day, you can see forever. "By
day, you can see clear to the horizon; by night you can see the lights
of Miami sparkle from here to the airport," says Oscar Roger, the
owner and developer of Gables on the Green, one of Coral Gable's
newest and most elegant luxury condominiums.
Rising
16 stories, the classic Mediterranean-style masterpiece is located on
an "island" between Coral Way and Biltmore Way, overlooking
the broad expanse of Granada Golf Course.
"I drove past this site on my way to and from
work for nearly eight years," said Roger, a long-time Coral
Gables resident. "I knew that it would be the perfect place to
build the ultimate luxury condominium. With its extraordinary views of
Granada Golf Course, it reminded me of the way the elegant hotels of
Park Avenue overlook Central Park."
In fact, a visit to New York inspired the name for
Gables on the Green. When Roger flew to New York City to meet with the
site's former owner and make an offer to buy the property, he went to
dinner at the legendary Tavern on the Green while he waited for an
answer.
"While I sat there, I looked at that beautiful
view and it reminded me of the natural beauty of Coral Gables,"
said Roger. "I promised myself that if I got the property I would
name it Gables on the Green."
Each luxury residence in Gables on the Green has been
specifically designed to take advantage of the spectacular views.
There are only two homes per floor and each is a spacious corner unit
of 2,400 to 5,000 square feet, with 10-foot ceilings and two terraces.
Each residence also has its own private lobby opening
off a private elevator computer-keyed for "owner only"
access, which allows for exceptional privacy. Magnificent appointments
throughout the building incorporate the highest level of elegance into
every detail.
"We've taken the best architectural and design
traditions of more than 100 years of Coral Gables history and
modernized them for the 21st century," said co-owner May Castro,
who was instrumental in the overall interior design.
Some exceptional features include imported marble
floors in the master bath, granite kitchen countertops, wood cabinets
of European-style construction, Jacuzzi, a glass-enclosed shower with
a built-in sitting area, double porcelain sinks and marble counter
tops in the master bath.
"We love Gables on the Green's design philosophy
of a classical understated project and we're pleased that they are
abiding by the highest building standards both inside and out,"
said Sandy Baer, one of the first homeowners. "After years of
living in Pinecrest-Palmetto, we decided it was time to change our
lifestyle from suburban homeowners to urban condominium residents. We
have grown children who live on the Beach and a lot of activities that
take us north. So, when we went looking for a new home people advised
us to pay attention to location, location, location. As we checked out
various developments, Gables on the Green had no competition.
"What a wonderful new neighborhood we will have
now," she continued. "We're excited that we will now be able
to walk to downtown Coral Gables and its wonderful array of fine
cafes, bookstores, theaters and shops. We also expect to take full
advantage of the golf course right across the street, either playing
on it or speed-walking around it."
Tower 1 of Gables on the Green is almost sold out.
Reservations are being accepted for Tower 2. Prices start at $485,000.
