This
year's return to school is not like last year's.
In Pinecrest, we are fortunate to have the best
private and public schools. Palmetto and Pinecrest Elementary schools
are among only a select few to have repeated the FCAT with a grade of
A.
That is certainly an accomplishment that the
administration, staff, parents and students of these schools should
take pride in.
Scoring high in the FCAT is largely due to the
increased number of parents and community members taking more active
roles on school campuses.
At home, education is supported, nurtured and valued.
And, today we have more public awareness about the importance of
parent, employer and community involvement in children's education.
VILLAGE PARK UPDATES
Suniland - Just in time for the fall Optimist Football Season, the
annex has been completed with plenty of parking. Everyone is
encouraged to utilize the additional parking lot to help maintain
public safety while enjoying the park.
Coral Pine - Proposals are currently being reviewed
for the selection of a tennis pro to enhance and increase programs for
the community.
Pinecrest - Grand Opening looks to be in early
November. Prepare to celebrate our new recreational gem.
Wayside - In the October election, residents will
decide on a land swap with the county that would exchange this
two-acre park where the Village municipal center would be built --
for two acres on SW 104 Street, which would become a passive park.
