Priscilla Brown Rolle has a soft voice, a warm
smile, pretty eyes and a very gentle manner. Youll enjoy meeting her as she performs
her duties in Pinecrest as one of the new park service aides.
"A lot of people are drawn to me," she said. "They like talking with me
for some reason. I guess I must be a good listener. Really, Im just an ordinary kind
of person. Some people, though, tell me I should go into modeling, but I dont know
about that."
Rolle will be working around the Pinecrest parks and be stationed primarily at
Suniland. Shell take care of the baseball fields, work in the office and monitor the
parks to make sure they are a clean and safe environment for the people.
Rolle, 34, and her husband, Godfrey, reside in Naranja. There are three boys in the
family: Perry, 15, Albert, 14, and Ian, 6. She is a native Miamian, born in the Kendall
Hospital, and has lived in south Miami-Dade County for 14 years. She grew up in Coconut
Grove, attended Miami Edison High School and, in 1992, received her diploma from the South
Dade Adult Education Center.
Rolle also works part-time with Dade County Public Schools as a security monitor at
Naranja Elementary School. She has been on the job there for almost five years and
previously worked as a child care aide in a day care nursery.
"I love working with kids," she said. "I interact real well with them.
They have a lot of energy, theyre always seeking information and theyre
curious all the time."
Rolle said that when shes not working she enjoys arts and crafts, and spends time
drawing, painting and sewing. She also likes reading and spending quality time with her
children.
"I like to go to the park with my boys," she said. "I try to make sure
that I give my boys as much of me as I give my job. Im a very down-to-earth normal
person. I want to live my life to the fullest, enjoy it and spend time with my family. If
I have that, I feel I have everything.
