At Quality Auto Repair they aim to live up to the name
By Ron Beasley

If you are in need of a good auto mechanic, then Quality Auto Repair is well worth the time you will spend to find the place.

Tucked away at 6962 SW 47 St. in a complex of industrial buildings at the very end of SW 47th Street off 69th Avenue, Quality Auto Repair has been taking care of South Dade motorists’ cars for more than 15 years.

"We try to live up to our name in every aspect of the business," said Fernando Obregon, 33, who co-owns Quality Auto Repair with his brother Frank. "We try to use the best parts available so we can offer our customers the best warranty possible. Our minimum parts-and-labor warranty is 12 months or 12,000 miles, which is far better than most other shops.

"But, the quality of our service is not only in the repair of the automobile, but in the way we try to treat people, our customers," he continued. "We want to solve their automotive problems as quickly and efficiently as possible, and by the least expensive, approved method. We want them to drive away satisfied so they’ll come back in the future."

Quality Auto Parts is a very well equipped, spotlessly clean automotive shop, with a vast array of high-tech mechanical equipment, including five automobile lifts, the shop’s main computer analyzer, separate computer analyzers for specific auto problems, a brake lathe, high-speed tire balancers, tire mounting equipment and air conditioning and charging equipment.

"We work on all cars, foreign and domestic, European and Japanese," said Obregon. "But we don’t do exotics, no Ferraris, no Porsches or cars of that caliber. And, we cover just about every mechanical area, except one. We don’t do automatic transmission rebuilding."

He said all of the mechanics at Quality have their ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification in such areas as air conditioning, engine performance and tune up, brakes and front end, suspension and axles. He added that they hold Miami-Dade County licenses as well.

"We have two master technicians on staff and all of our other mechanics are certified in their individual areas of work," Obregon explained. "If a mechanic works on a car in an area that he’s not certified, then a master tech is always supervising. That’s our policy."

Obregon said Quality Auto Repair has been in business for 15 years because the company stands solidly behind its work and tries to work with customers to give them repair options to help them save money.

"People don’t have to be mechanics to know when someone is taking care of them," said Obregon. "And they don’t need to be mechanics to know when they’re being taken for a ride, either. We do our level best to make sure our customers are satisfied. That’s what we’ve built our reputation on and that’s how we’ll continue to operate — providing honest, reliable auto repair services at competitive prices."
