Pinecrest resident Emily Hirsch, a 1997 graduate of Palmetto Senior High School and now a student at the University of Maryland, has been named to the dean's list of outstanding students.

To make the prestigious roster, Hirsch maintained a 4.0 grade point average in the just-ended spring semester. Hirsch is a summer intern with the Dade State Attorney's office and plans to go on to law school
