Ever wonder what it's like to be on patrol in a
police car?
Now, you can find out with the Pinecrest Police Department's new
Citizen Ride-Along program.

Village Police will offer citizens the opportunity to ride with them
on patrol
The department has announced that it would allow
residents the opportunity to ride with an officer on patrol in a
police car and experience police work up close and personal.
"We believe this program blends very nicely with
our community-oriented policing efforts, which encourage
citizen-officer familiarity and interaction," said Chief John
Hohensee. "Our citizens and officers working together make an
unbeatable team."
To arrange a ride, you must contact the police
department 48 hours in advance of the time you want to join an officer
on patrol. You will also have to sign a liability waiver and submit to
a basic check of your background.
If everything checks out, you'll be cleared for the
ride along and scheduled to go with an officer for a four-hour patrol
sometime during 10 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Department at 305-234-2100.
