Angie Turner-Isbell, Teresa Echeverry, and Ileana
O'Connor, employees of Myra and Company Spa, Salon and Studio, have
won a trip to San Francisco.
The trio will join Myra vice president Erica Porter,
the Spa's retail buyer, on the fall holiday buying trip beginning
August 5. The trip is a reward for the top salesperson from each of
the company's departments and will allow Porter to confer with them on
what gift items to purchase for the holiday season.
The group will visit San Francisco spas, sample
treatments and services with an eye toward adding them to Myra and
Company's menu. The group also will research spa designs for Myra's
second location.
"We will spend the next twelve months traveling
as much as possible in search of the perfect blend of services, design
and decor for our new Gables location," said owner Myra Porter.
"I want customers to feel like they are in another country,
perhaps even remember one they love each time they visit."
Myra's new facility is already on the drawing boards
and will be located at 4012 Laguna Avenue. Myra and husband Newt, of
Porter & Korvick, P.A., purchased the site two weeks ago. The
Porters plan to build a 21,000 square foot Spa facility and open it by
the winter of 2002.
The new Spa is located within walking distance of the
Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom stores that will be part of the Rouse
shopping center project slated for construction a short distance away
on LeJeune Road.
"Shop until you are exhausted, then let us relax
and pamper you," said Porter. "And, we will also cater to
the corporate market."
Porter said the new Spa, Salon, Studio & Cafe will
be designed as an art gallery, with a state of the art communication
and meeting facility. The spa will have facilities for hosting board
meetings, fundraising events and some corporate conferences.
The skin care department, like the South Miami
location, will specialize in the latest anti-aging treatments.
"Like our South Miami location," said
Porter, "the new facility will be open seven days weekly, 8 a.m.
to 11 p.m., making it convenient to enjoy the facility and incorporate
a spa ritual into your regimen. In Europe, spa visits are treated as
medical leave, whereas in the United States many still consider spa
visits a luxury."
