The Miami law firm of Hector and Harke has been listed
in the new edition of the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register.
The register lists about 9,000 solo practice attorneys
and law firms in the United States and Canada that are said to be the
most distinguished practices. An AV rating is needed in order to be
listed the "A" signifying the highest level of legal
ability and the V denoting very high adherence to professional
standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence.
The rating is the result of a peer review system based
on the confidential opinions of practicing attorneys and members of
the judiciary.
"An AV rating is a significant accomplishment
a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the
highest level of professional excellence," claim
Martindale-Hubbell editors.
The Bar Register differs from the Martindale-Hubbell
Law Directory, a general listing of about 900,000 lawyers and law
firms.
Hector and Harke was founded in 1998 by Alice G.
Hector and Lance A. Harke. Both were partners in Miami's Steel Hector
and Davis law firm.
In its brief history, Hector and Harke already has
been involved in a number of high-profile cases.
"This is a real honor for such a young firm to be
selected for the Bar Register," said Harke. "We are all
extremely proud to be recognized."
While the Bar Register is used primarily by attorneys
to find highly qualified specialists, the public may also access the
firms through the Martindale-Hubbell website at martindale.com.
The law firms that are listed in the register carry a
Bar Register icon with their listing.
