Medical technician Otto Mejia assists Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen as she prepares to give blood during a recent visit to the Community Blood Center at Miami Children's Hospital. Rep. Ros-Lehtinen made the donation to draw attention to the acute need for blood in Florida's blood centers. Accidents during holiday travel significantly lowered blood reserves, creating an urgent need for donors. Rep. Ros-Lehtinen also is also working to educate citizens about the need for organ donations.
